CaO was very effective for dechlorinating from VOCs, but troublesome for its moisture absorption. Handling of powdered CaO was so difficult that we used 2 ~4 mm of CaO particles. CaO particles were suplied by screw feeder into the top of the moving bed. Countercurrent reaction was occurred between CaO and VOCs in the moving bed reaction tube.\n In this study, the result of review for C₂HCL₃ (trichloroetheyene,TCE) in VOCs was shown. TCE was completely changed to CaCl₂,CO₂ and H₂O at about 730℃. Inlet of the concentrations of TCE were 8.3×10³ ~ 2.4×10⁴ ppm and after the reaction, the concentrations of TCE were not detected in the off-gas. Off-gas was analyzed by gas chromatograph (GC) and gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS). Below 650℃, a few ppm of C₂Cl₄ (perchloroethyene, PCE) was detected as a by-product.
