今日のソーシャル・キャピタル論において, 「橋渡し型」に比べ性質に課題が多いと集約されがちな「結合型」に注目し, その有効性に関する検討を通じて, 地域福祉の立場からソーシャル・キャピタルの活用をめぐっての課題等を考察する. 方法としては, 両類型の特質に依拠して展開していると捉えられる農村部のBおよびC地区での「高齢者宅配サービス」の現状と展開方法についての比較検討を行った. その結果, ①地域福祉の推進においてソーシャル・キャピタルに着目する際には, 対象地域の特徴を詳細に把握する必要があり, 活用にあたっては目的・方法・効果予測等について限定的な枠組みで検討する必要があること, ②過疎問題など早急な対応が迫られている地域では, ソーシャル・キャピタルの「結合型」に依拠した地域福祉推進に有効性が考えられること, ③地域福祉にソーシャル・キャピタル論を導入する際には, 豊変化への着目と平行して, 支援のあり方をコミュニティ・ワークの視点から検討することが重要である,
