This study aimed to discuss previous research to obtain information related to support provided by public health nurses for mothers in the child-rearing stage in order to improve their health literacy. As a result of analyzing four studies, it was found that mothers’ need for using different apps was related to the growth and development of their children. The number of apps that had been used throughout the pregnancy and child-rearing stages increased approximately tenfold over the past six years, suggesting that mothers had more opportunities to use such apps in recent years. While the functions of such apps varied, it was found that they also contain unreliable information. In addition, it was clarified that mothers of children with food allergies showed increased health literacy corresponding to the growth of their children, because they began to obtain and use information after their children were diagnosed with food allergies. Furthermore, it was found that teenage mothers did not sufficiently use the materials and advice they obtained and had difficulty understanding the support system due to their young age. In the future, it will be necessary to discuss optimal information services provided by public health nurses and administrative organs, based on the needs of mothers for such information and the problems in using different apps and websites.
