内容記述 【Abstract】
The purpose of this research was to consider whether the students in nutritional science course comprehended the contents of the curriculum and acquired the desirable food habit and the ability for managing themselves. Therefore the life behavior of the students in nutritional science course was compared with that of the students in another department.
1) Concering their nutrients intake, the deficiency of energy, carbohydrate, calcium, iron, and dietary fiber was observed. In addition, the fat energy ratio of the students in another department exceeded 30 percent, while that of the students in nutritional science course was on its maximum permissible level, which made it clear that they hadn't establishied the proper eating habit.
2) Concerning their food intake, the deficiency of almost all of the foods such as vegetables and fruits was observed. Meanwhile the students of both groups sufficiently ingested confectionery. seasoning, nonessential drink, and meat. In order to analyze their confectionery intake, it will be necessary to examine how frequently they eat meals and how they eat meals.
3) Concerning their total energy expenditure, a signifficant difference was obseved in total energy expenditure, metabolic equivalent, and walking counts. It is supposed that the students in nutritional science course exceed those in another department in total energy expenditure, metabolic equivalent, and walking counts, which means that they have led an active free-living conditions. This seems to result from the effective classes that include self-monitoring and let the students recognize their own problem and think of their goal behavior.
It is suggested that the classes which enhance the effect of nutrition education and cause life behavior, especially eating, to change should be developed.
