| 内容記述 | 【Abstract】 Tea has been daily drunk since ancient times, and now became the beverage currently most consumed all over the world. As you known, catechin is the most popular tea ingredient, and a variety of health benefit functions of tea caetchins anre coleecting pepple's interest. It is expected that tea components are abele to utilize as functional materials including various kinds of effects such as anti-cancer, anti-cardiovasculare, anti-oxidative, anti-obesity, and anti-allergic activities. Anti-cancer action, namely, the inhibition of the cancer growth, angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis, is one of the most researched fields in pleiotropic effects of green tea catechins. However more reasonable and effective candidates through which inhibit the cancer growth have not been found yet. Most recently, we have identified a target molecule on the surface of the cancer cells, which can mediate the anti-cancer effect of a green tea catechin. In this paper, we outline such findings that may open new avenue to the interpretation of tea functions, with the trend of state-of-the-art functional researches of tea. |
